British Painting of the 18th and 19th Century

Synopsis
The late 19th and early 19th centuries are regarded as a radical period in British art, in which artists responded to industrialisation and social change with new forms of genre painting and portraiture. Names like Wright of Derby, McTaggart, Wilkie, Raeburn and Millais symbolise a period of upheaval, a time of both reflection and reorientation.
This DVD contains five short documentaries that look at; Sir John Everett Millais’s "Ophelia", Joseph Wright of Derby’s "An Experiment on a Bird in the Air Pump", William McTaggart’s "The Storm", Sir David Wilkie’s "William Bethune, His Wife and Daughter", and Sir Henry Raeburn’s "Reverend Robert Walker Skating".
