Black Mother

Synopsis
'An epic poem: a raw, dense, impressionistic odyssey through Jamaican identity’ (Steve Rose, The Guardian). Kahlik Allah’s second feature introduces us to a succession of vividly rendered characters who call Jamaica home: sex workers, beggars, hawkers and children. Their testimonies touch on issues of Jamaican history, landscape, religion, race, sex and femininity.
