Automation, Ai and New Industrial Strategies

Synopsis
Three online lectures about the digital transition we are currently living through and how it is different from previous technological transitions. The lectures are aimed primarily to those with a strong interest in economics, the geopolitics of technology, big data, AI, industrial automation and the future of work.
Talks include:

-The German Experience with Industry 4.0 and the Country’s Nascent Approach to Artificial Intelligence (by Philipp Staab, visiting Professor of Technology Studies at the University of St. Gallen, and researcher at the institute for the history and future of work in Berlin).

-Automation, AI and New Industrial Strategies: The Chinese Perspective (by Yun Wen, Senior Economist at Infinitesum Modelling Inc.).

-Labour vs Infocapitalism? (by Paul Mason, visiting Professor of Economics at the University of Wolverhampton).

The presentations were recorded at the DECODE symposium/consortium of 2018 in Barcelona. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme, DECODE is a multidisciplinary EU project about data sovereignty.
