- Synopsis
- Set in the offices of two competing newspaper outlets- broadsheet, The Herald, and tabloid, The Post- this BBC drama series follows journalists at each paper as they face up to the uncertainties of an ever-changing industry, the demands of relentless, rolling deadlines and some of the key moral obstacles that all news outlets-whether in paper or digital form- face every day: the issue of what is in the public interest, rather than simply of interest to the public; holding power to account; exposure and shaming, and the ethics of ‘death knocks’ - which refers to the practice of a reporter knocking on the doors of the bereaved in order to gain information and an emotional reaction to a death.
