Synopsis
The programme shows how type 2 diabetes has become a serious health risk for many teenagers as a direct result of poor diet, sedentary lifestyle and obesity. It combines factual information and interviews with young people living with diabetes to explain:

-the facts about the causes and effects of diabetes, and the differences between type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes;

-the risk factors for developing diabetes, and the warning signs to look out for;

-the role of diet and exercise in preventing and controlling diabetes, and the specific changes in diet and exercise that student can make to reduce their own risk of diabetes;

-how students can help a friend with diabetes who is experiencing low blood sugar.
