Migrant Sound: Identity

Alternative title
Identity
Synopsis
In this short documentary four children of the Windrush generation discover the impact that both Caribbean and UK music had upon their identities. IDENTITY aims to shine a light on the struggle to establish a voice in Britain, and how subcultures such as punk proved the perfect melting pot for an unheard generation.

IDENTITY is the third episode of the series Migrant Sound which aims to celebrate migration and its impact on the UK’s music and culture. Combining broad societal stories with personal family anecdotal histories, the series allows for emotional storytelling mixed with vibrant visuals of migrant culture, told through the lens of youth past and present.
