Synopsis
BBC documentary looking at how Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin took control of Russia in just a few months in 1917. Dramatic re-enactments bring to life clashes, seminal speeches and the storming of the Winter Palace. Experts including historian Simon Schama and writers Martin Amis and Robert Harris debate and discuss. The documentary also asks: did the revolution create a political culture in which President Vladimir Putin could thrive?
