Birthday Party, The

Synopsis
The Birthday Party was originally presented on stage in London in 1958 and since then the play has been frequently revived. Its author, Harold Pinter, is now recognised as one of the greatest talents in contemporary English literature. This film version by William Friedkin, with a screenplay by Pinter himself, is very faithful to the original story, which is set in a shabby seaside boarding house in England where a seemingly inane and trivial conversation suddenly transforms from something humorous to terrifying.
DVD Extras include an interview with director William Friedkin.
