Secrets of the Human Body

Alternative title
Grow, Survive, Learn
Synopsis
The human body is the most sophisticated organism on earth. It is a scientific marvel and much about it remains a mystery. This BBC series uses cutting-edge graphics to effectively peel back the skin and reveal the biological processes that keep us alive.
In the first episode, GROW, Drs Chris and Xand van Tulleken explore the latest understanding of how we all grow. They uncover the reason our childhood is longer than any other creature on Earth and reveal the communities of microbes - our microbiome - that we cultivate throughout our lives.
In the second episode, SURVIVE, Drs Chris and Xand van Tulleken see exactly how our immune system cells go into battle against deadly infection.
In the third and final episode, LEARN, Drs Chris and Xand van Tulleken uncover how we develop new skills and show, for the very first time, how memories are formed in our brains.
