Guernica Children, The

Synopsis
In the wake of the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War, four thousand Basque refugee children were evacuated to Britain. Seventy years on, we hear their story and how the conflict between humanitarian need and the British Government’s policy of non-intervention was resolved. Eye witness accounts are mixed with expert analysis, dramatic reconstruction and previously un-screened archive footage to tell this story for the first time.
