Allergies: Modern Life and Me

Synopsis
Why are allergies on the rise in the western world? Are they really reaching epidemic proportions? In this documentary from the BBC Horizon Series, Professor Graham Rook investigates how recent changes to our environment are impacting our immune systems. Using a combination of mini cameras, GPS units and gene-sequencing technology, the programme follows two families with allergies to test different hypothesis and explain some of the latest research in the field.
