Glass Beadmaking in Turkey and Ghana

Synopsis
Documentary. This DVD shows two traditional methods of glass beadmaking and shows in detail how beautiful handcrafted beads are produced. In Turkey, glass beads are made in a furnace and the technique is shown in Mahmut Sur’s workshop in Kurudere. In Ghana, in the Krobo workshop of Nomoda Djaba and in the workshop in Asiofia, the ingredients of the beads are arranged in moulds which are then fired in a kiln.
