Synopsis
Lecture given by Sir David Attenborough on 12 October 2009, at Cambridge University. Attenborough was speaking as part iof the ‘Personal Histories of Media and Archaeology’ oral history project. He discusses his early career as a producer of the 1950s BBC programme, ‘Animal, Vegetable, and Mineral’. Attenborough is joined by friends and colleagues, Ray Sutcliffe, Anna Benson Gyles and David Collison, who share their memories of archaeology on camera. T

The Personal Histories Project is an on-going, educational, oral histories research effort spearheaded by Pamela Jane Smith of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at Cambridge University. Each year, during term, senior scientists are invited to share their memories and life stories. [86 minutes]
