Britain’s Meadowlands

Synopsis
Since the Second World War Britain has lost more than 90% of its traditionally managed meadows to development and changes in farming practices. These days attitudes have evolved and the importance of these ancient habitats has been fully recognised. This film in the Black Country Lad Explores series looks at the wonderful biodiversity of a range of meadowlands and throws a spotlight onto the many plants and animals to be found there. Look out for orchids, foxes, butterflies and many others in this gentle, sympathetically filmed excursion into this important British wildlife habitat.
