Kate Plays Christine

Synopsis
Documentary by Robert Greene about the on-air suicide of American newsreader Christine Chubbuck. Chubbuck, who was a news reporter for a local television station in Florida shot herself live on air in 1974. Greene approaches his subject by filming actress Kate Lyn Shiel as she prepares to play Chubbuck in a film. The purported film is a fiction - a device to enable Greene to approach the truth about Chubbuck’s shocking death in an oblique manner which aims to reveal the truth about the affair in a more enlightening, less sensational way than perhaps a more traditional approach would have done.
