Synopsis
Michael Maloney introduces a special Shakespeare-themed festival of music. Performers include the National Youth Chamber Orchestra conducted by Ben Parry, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra conducted by Mark Armstrong and the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe., together with musical theatre stars Hannah Waddingham and Graham Bickley. The concert includes new settings of Shakespeare’s sonnets and films scores inspired by the works. Maloney reads extracts from The Tempest, The Taming of the Shrew and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
