Tunnel to the Beginning of Time, A: Experimental Physics at Lhc

Synopsis
The particle collisions created at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland now involve energies never before achieved in the laboratory and may shed light on new fundamental particles and potentially revolutionise our concept of space-time. In this lecture, Dr Veronique Boisvert reviews some significant discoveries already made by the ATLAS detector (including the famous Higgs particle) and explain what could be learned to learn from the new data being produced at the world’s largest experiment.
