Synopsis
This edition contains newly remastered HD versions of Peter Watkins’ controversial films originally broadcast by the BBC. CULLODEN (1964) reconstructs the famous battle in the style of contemporary television news coverage. The WAR GAME (1965) - about a nuclear attack on Kent - was written, directed and produced by Peter Watkins for the BBC’s ‘The Wednesday Play’ anthology series. Deemed too horrifying to be broadcast it was banned from tv screens for twenty years but gained a loyal following via its cinema release abroad and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1966

Extras include: CULLODEN commentary by Dr John Cook; The WAR GAME commentary by Patrick Murphy; Interview with editor Mike Bradsell (2015); Illustrated booklet with essays and full credits.
