Doctor Faustus

Synopsis

Matthew Dunster directed this production of Christopher Marlowe’s tragedy, which was recorded live at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in August, 2011. Paul Hilton take the role of Doctor Faustus, whose thirst for knowledge and power leads him to sell his soul to the devil through Lucifer’s agent, Mephistopheles (Arthur Darvill). The production uses puppets and masks to bring to life the play’s central themes.
