Frankenstein: The True Story

Synopsis
This made-for- television film, which was first broadcast in 1973, was co-scripted by Christoper Isherwood, and features a heavyweight cast, including John Gielgud, James Mason and Ralph Richardson. Less faithful to the original novel than the title suggests, the film, is nonetheless a serious exploration of the psychological, ethical and scientific themes in Mary Shelley’s book, especially in its subtle portrayal of the relationship between the doctor and his creation.
