Synopsis
Dirk Simon’s film about the history of the Tibetan people’s struggle for freedon begins in 1950: the Tibet was incorporated by the People’s Republic of China. In 1959, following the Tibetan Rebellion, the country lost its autonomy and the Dalai Lama government fled to India in exile. The struggle continues into the 21st century but there is disagreement as to the best way to attain independence. The film includes a number of interviewees who have varying opinions on the issue and features music by Philip Glass, Thom Yorke and Damien Rice
