Rosenhahn’s Experiment

Synopsis
A five-part film examining Rosenhan’s ‘being sane in insane places’ study. This psychology DVD covers the context of the study in the 1970s anti-psychiatry movement, how the pseudo patients got themselves admitted to mental hospitals, their subsequent experiences within the mental hospital and the conclusion that psychiatric diagnostic techniques are not particularly good at distinguishing the sane from the insane. It concludes by looking at some more recent research in a similar vein.
