Systems
- Synopsis
- How are we to understand our ever increasingly complex society? What new ways of thinking and visualisations do artists construct; and why do we find comfort in some systems while rebelling against others? The documentary SYSTEMS explores these questions in the work of the artists John Baldessari, whose conceptual work has used photography and appropriated images; Julie Mehrutu, who creates dense, highly abstract paintings and prints; Kimsooja, who uses video and installations that blur the boundraises of aesthetic and transcendental experience; and Allan McCollum, uses labour intensive processes to question the value of art itself.
