Synopsis: PLAY explores the work of the German conceptual artist Oliver Herring, a New York based experimental artist whose work includes performance pieces and styrofoam photo sculptures, Venezuelan-born painter Arturo Herrera, known for his use of collage and cartoons, American artists Jessica Stockholder, a sculptor and installation artist and Ellen Galagher, who uses a wide range of media in her art, and concludes with an original video artwork by Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler.

Art: Art in the 21st Century is a series of 24 programmes in which 100 contemporary artists explain their creations, their creative processes, and their perceptions of art.
