Director Stephen Finnigan was allowed unprecedented access to Hawking’s private life, resulting in a film which tells the story of Hawking’s success, from his early career and challenges, to his battle with motor neurone disease, his two marriages and his fame. The the film also features dramatic reconstructions and testimonies from those who have known and worked with him during his life.
