Chronicle of Protest: The Film
- Synopsis
- Michael Chanan’s video diary of the anti-cuts protest movement follows the chronology of events over five months, from November 2010 to the end of March 2011. Chanan’s film is unreservedly celebratory, presenting discussion and debate within the movement in a way which tries to make sense of the various positions taken by different groups. On the other hand - despite its lack of voice-over - the film makes no bones about being in opposition to the mainstream media. Featuring news footage, video blogs, police footage, interviews with young activists and protesters, CHRONICLE OF PROTEST presents a montage of events which functions both as a celebration and a call to arms.
