Tropicalia

Synopsis
Marcel Machado’s documentary charts the history of the 1960s Brazilian counter-cultural movement known as Tropicália, which expressed itself in theatre, film, art and poetry, but is perhaps best known today for its musical faction. Leading figures of the movement, including Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Tom Zé look back on their experiences, which, for Gil and Veloso, led to arrest, imprisonment and exile.
