Legal Education: Socialist Survivors

Synopsis

Ever since its foundation in 1930, Haldane has been a legal thorn in the side of successive British governments, fighting for law reforms, civil liberties and access to justice for all; waging war on racism and discrimination; and engaging in practical solidarity in Europe and internationally. The group’s most recent battle, in 2013, is against the legal aid cuts being imposed by the Coalition government.

This talk was given by two young lawyers, at Birkbeck College, on 18 June 2013. Natalie Csengeri and Stephen Knight, who are both on Haldane’s executive, talk about how they
became socialists and their experience of legal education.
