Shaker Aamer: A Decade of Injustice

Synopsis
This short film tells the story of Shaker Aamer, the last British resident held in Guantánamo Bay, without having been charged or put on trial. The film features exclusive footage of the ongoing fight for his return taking place in London and outlines the possible reason why he has not been released, including the role he has in Guantánamo Bay as a leader, his allegations of the UK government’s complicity in his torture, and what he may have witnessed the night of the multiple Guantánamo suicides.

The film includes interviews with former detainees, Amer’s American lawyer Clive Stafford Smith (Director of Reprieve), his local MP Jane Ellison, Michael Ratner (President of the Center for Constitutional Rights), Ruth Blakely (Senior Lecturer In International Relations at University of Kent ), Clive Baldwin (Senior Legal Advisor Human Rights Watch) amongst other campaigners, journalists and human rights lawyers.
