Barrymore

Synopsis
Staging for film of the 1997 one-man play by William Luce starring Christopher Plummer as American acting legend John Barrymore. With his career in tatters, ageing actor John Barrymore rents an old theatre and begins rehearsing for a backer’s audition to raise money for a revival of his former triumph as Shakespeare’s Richard III. Plummer gives several Shakespearean speeches, including lines from Richard III, Hamlet, As You Like It (Jacques) and The Tempest (Prospero). Extras include a 60-minute behind-the-scenes documentary, ‘Backstage with Barrymore’.
