Synopsis

This dramatised programme explores the serious health problems that arise from eating disorders and urges students to seek help if they themselves suffer from an eating disorder or suspect that a friend is suffering. It is designed to help students: Recognise the symptoms; Learn that binge eaters are obsessed with and addicted to food; Understand that anorexia and bulimia are characterised by a preoccupation with food and a distorted body image; Realise the extent to which someone with an eating disorder will go to hide their obsession.

The teachers’ pack, printable from the DVD, contains 20 discussion starters, five activities and five handouts, which include checklists, a body image review and a symptom checker.
