Synopsis

This documentary film accompanies the exhibition, ‘Michelangelo Drawings - Closer to the Master’, which was held at the British Museum in 2006. The film is presented by Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum and is filmed on location in Florence and in the Sistine Chapel. The film describes the way that Michelangelo’s drawings illuminate his life, his artistic development, his religion and also his psychology.
