- Synopsis
- Amid growing concern about cultural division in the UK and the sense of national pride being lost, the British Government has encouraged schools to investigate diversity in the UK and develop an awareness of Britishness. This DVD charts the history of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; explores perceptions of Britishness and provides a basis for discussion about the future of the United Kingdom the people who live there. The DVD is divided into five chapters: 1. ‘Being British’; 2. From the past to the present; 3. A people to be proud of; 4. The good, the bad and the ugly; 5. The future of Britishness.
