Simon Russell Beale in Conversation
- Synopsis
- Simon Russell Beale in conversation with Al Senter about his career including his role in Nicholas Hytner’s Timon of Athens and playing Falstaff in Richard Eyre’s BBC production of THE HOLLOW CROWN. Beale talks about the contemporary setting, women taking some of the roles in Timon of Athens and feels Timon is "supremely asexual". Beale believes Falstaff has to come to terms with the fact that he has achieved nothing and cannot face too much reality. He speaks of playing Shakespeare on camera (the first time he has done this) and feels he has a tendency to sentimentalise.
