Giacometti

Synopsis
With sparse narration in English and brief comments by the artist in French, this film documents sculptor Alberto Giacometti at work in his small Paris studio and presents examples of his work: drawn and painted portraits, sculpted heads, figures of men in motion and standing figures of women. The camera records him modelling in clay and observes the silent concentration as his fingers mould and coax, remove and rebuild. Giacometti comments on the impossibility of capturing the curve of an eye, and of achieving an accurate representation.
