People to People

Synopsis
This film provides an excellent overview of the development of the field of social psychology over the last 100 years. This includes explanations of key terms, such as norms, conformity, deindividuation, social influence, social loafing, participation and motivation. Examples of events such as My Lai and Rosa Parkes’ behaviour in the US illustrate how our everyday lives are impacted by the behaviour of others. Ongoing important debates on whether behaviour is caused by personality or situation, and the role of genetics versus the media in aggressive behaviour are explored.
