Synopsis
This film consists of two parts. The first shows actors reciting Auden’s poetry; the second sees Auden himself reading from his own work and talking about the aesthetics of his poetry. At the time of filming, W. H. Auden was a professor at Oxford University, although this programme was produced in New York City, where he lived.
