Synopsis
This documentary examines one of the most formidable weapons of of the Middle Ages: the Viking Ulfberht sword: a light, razor sharp, virtually indestructible weapon, with the name ULFBERHT inlaid along the blade. But who Ulfberht was, where the sword came from, and how it was made remained secrets for more than 1,000 years. This programme attempts to shed some light on the mystery by conducting an investigation into the weapon’s history and hallenging a master Wisconsin swordsmith to reproduce the sword by following the original process as closely as possible.
