Decisive Moment, The: Photographs and Words by Henri Cartier-Bresson
- Synopsis
- This film shows Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of the 20th-century’s most influential photographers and founder of the celebrated Magnum photo agency, offering a series of observations on the nature of the photographic medium. His words are accompanied by many of his best-known photographs, which capture what he called the "decisive moment". Made in 1973 as part of a series organised by Cornell Capa, the film sees Cartier-Bresson likening photography to a sketchbook, a psychoanalytical couch, a warm kiss, and a machine gun.
