Viola

Synopsis
Feature film. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the film begins with an all-female cast performing the play, gradually segueing into the dressing room where its story and prose impact on their off-stage lives. Mid-way through the audience is introduced to film’s centre, Viola (María Villar), whose desires connect their stories. Weaving in Shakespeare’s dialogue, Viola draws on the play’s language and its themes — love, comedy and deception.
