Viola
- Synopsis
- Feature film. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the film begins with an all-female cast performing the play, gradually segueing into the dressing room where its story and prose impact on their off-stage lives. Mid-way through the audience is introduced to film’s centre, Viola (María Villar), whose desires connect their stories. Weaving in Shakespeare’s dialogue, Viola draws on the play’s language and its themes love, comedy and deception.
