Synopsis
The Oscar-winning 1956 documentary co-directed by the legendary diver, conservationist and filmmaker Jacques Cousteau and celebrated auteur Louis Malle, The SILENT WORLD made use use of new underwater filming technology, much of which was developed by Cousteau’s team, and was the first film to offer a window into the world beneath the sea, and kick-started a whole new movement in filmmaking.
