Experiments in the Revival of Organisms
- Synopsis
- Controviersial Soviet medical film showing Dr Sergei S. Bryukhonenko using mechanical resuscitation techniques to induce clinical death in a dog which is then revived. Part of the film shows a seemingly severed dog’s head reacting to external stimuli whilst being kept alive by means of artificial circulation. Current scientific opinion is that the film is a fake produced for propaganda purposes and that while such experiments really were carried out, the operation shown in the film was staged using a whole, rather than a decapitated dog.
