Defamation

Synopsis
Yoav Shamir’s film essay, described by the filmmaker himself as a ‘personal journey’, shows Shamir visiting the USA to discover what anti-Semitism - which he claims never to have experienced - is all about. He meets up with Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League and travels with him as Foxman campaigns against discrimination and bigotry. Shamir finds that in practice, the ADL appears to be using the fear of anti-Semitism to bolster uncritical support for the state of Israel, and that in effect their efforts are only serving to perpetuate anti-Semitism.
