Cry Sea
- Synopsis
- This documentary explores the impact that the EU’s fishing policies are having on Senegal, where the sea is the nation’s main resource. Thanks to The EU’s agreement with Senegal, European commercial fishing trawlers are allowed to fish in Senegalese waters. Unable to compete with this ‘European Invasion’, Senegalese fishermen are being driven out of business, as an estimated 50% of fish caught in Senegalese waters now goes straight to Europe. This film serves as an analysis of the crisis as well as a rallying cry for action.
