Great British Story: A People’s History

Synopsis
Eight part BBC series which traces the history of the British people from the bottom up and from a regional perspective. Wood’s approach is community-based - he is helped by local groups and communities across the UK, and uses the rich resources of local archives, museums, societies and universities to tell the story of the nation from a local perspective, setting the lives of ordinary people in the context of great events, showing how people forged their own identity through struggles against invasion, plague, famine, war and often their own rulers.
