Children’s Film Foundation: Volume I: London Tales
- Synopsis
- Collection of three films produced by The Children’s Film Foundation. The SALVAGE GANG (1958), directed by John Krish and featuring a young Frazer Hines and a cameo by Wilfred Brambel, is notable for its use of London locations; OPERATION THIRD FORM (1966), directed by David Eady, features a fresh-faced John Moulder-Brown as a schoolboy out to foil a pair of North London crooks with a crack spy unit comprising his classmates and kid sister. NIGHT FERRY (1976) stars Bernard Cribbins as a criminal mastermind whose plan to smuggle an Egyptian mummy out of the country leads to a chase via South London’s Victoria Station and Clapham Station. Extras on the DVD release include ‘TOPIC - CHILDREN’S THEATRE’ (1959) a 14 minute US TV show on the work of the Children’s Film Foundation, with John Krish on the set of The Salvage Gang, J. Arthur Rank and CFF director Mary Field.
