Christopher’s Movie Matinée: Haphazard Adventures in Flower Power Cinema

Synopsis
In 1968, in Yorkville (Toronto), the NFB provided a group of hippies with cameras, film and a few NFB film crew members so they could make a film illustrating their lives and their world. The footage they gathered is presented in a feature film with very little editing. There are sit-ins, love-ins, animated discussions among themselves about almost everything, and encounters with adults on a bus and on the street. The film is a revealing portrait of a dissenting generation and its rationale.
