Bear 71, An Interactive Documentary

Synopsis
A multi-user, interactive documentary that observes and records the intersection of humans and nature, questioning our view of the world through the lens of digital technology. BEAR 71 follows the life of a grizzly bear in Canada’s Banff National Park from the moment it’s tagged and collared by park rangers to its death. The story is verbally told from the bear’s perspective but seen from the point of view of the many surveillance cameras surrounding the park. The interaction of the film combines linear, story-driven audio with the audience’s ability to use their smartphones to peep into the surveillance cameras placed around the preserve. If you accept it, the film will even use your webcam to observe you and broadcast your image to other viewers.
