Tempest, The

Synopsis
Low-budget independent film. The directors enlist a multiracial group of 17 young people from South London to do a workshop on The Tempest. During rehearsals the teenagers comment on the negative attention of the police and the media. Their life experiences feed into the their reading of the text as work on the play’s post-colonial interpretations. Ariel is played by several actresses. A variety of scenes are rehearsed and played out in sites around the Oval area of London.
