Vigilance Behaviour in Barnacle Geese

Synopsis
The video is a practical exercise for undergraduates in which students watch 21 flocks of geese which range in size from 1-20 birds. The students collect data on the frequency and duration of vigilance of one bird in the flock as it grazes. The analysis of the data allows determintion how vigilance changes as a function of flock size.

The background notes provided with the video have recently been rewritten. They now contain a check sheet for students to use when carrying out the exercise.
